Teyuna, The Lost City

The Tayrona were one of the main tribes that inhabited the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta when the first Spanish caravels arrived in the New World. They constituted a powerful and complex organization that had built large towns, as well as roads, walls and canals that transported water to the crops.

In the seventeenth century their descendants fled and took refuge in the moors. They returned to the sierra about a hundred years later and rebuilt their villages.
