Tayrona closes its doors
According to the National Parks Institution, Tayrona Park will close its doors throughout the years in February, June and October. Due to the agreement between this institution and the four native indigenous peoples of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, the park will be closed to provide rest to the nature of such an environment.
PNN and the Original Peoples agree to carry out the suspension of Ecotourism activities within the PNN Tayrona in three periods a year, to rest in the territory and carry out environmental, cultural, spiritual activities and to strengthen relations with the territory, on the following dates:
February 1 – 15 (At the time of Kugkui shikasa)
June 1 – 15 (At the time of Saka Juso)
October 19 to November 2 (At the time of Nabbatashi)”
